Year 0-2
Ruma Piwakawaka is a busy learning space where our New Entrant and Year 1-2 learners can engage in play and more formal learning.
We make the most of our outdoor space also.
Ms Carson is the kaiako in this space. She loves teaching this age group and has lots of fun teaching us about how to learn at school.
We learn about our school values and how to enact them in our space.
We learn how to read and write with a strong emphasis on phonemic awareness in our day.
We love our Maths learning too – we play lots of fun maths games and use our PR1ME books to practise the skills and knowledge we need for Mathematics.
In Ruma Piwakawaka we use the ‘Golden Rules’ to remind us how to be at school.
