Year 4 & 5
Welcome to Ruma Ruru.
We are a bunch of 24 spirited Year 3/4 and 5 learners embarking on our journey towards the big leagues at Te Pahu School.
At our school, we’re all about the good stuff: being super nice (Manaakitanga), looking after things (Kaitiakitanga), staying healthy and happy (Hauora), feeling like we belong (Whanaungatanga), and having a blast while learning (Wairua Auaha). Every day, we dive into reading, writing, and math with a mix of fun games, and hands-on activities. Plus, we get to dive deeper into different subjects each term, like science or artsy stuff.
In our learning hangout, teamwork, honesty, and getting to choose our own adventure are the name of the game. Our motto in Ruru is simple: We’re all in this together! In Ruru we are all about:
- Feeling proud of ourselves.
- Saying “please” and “thank you”
- Are prepared.
- Show respect.
- Have empathy.
- Talk with each other.
- Self-regulate ourselves.
- Justify and own our choices.
I am passionate about supporting these learners academically, as well as their overall physical and emotional well being. We would welcome you joining us in our journey together.
